Ordinary Time or the Epiphany season begins on the first Sunday after January 6 and lasts until the Sunday before Ash Wednesday. During the time after Epiphany we hear stories about Jesus' baptism and early ministry. The last Sunday of this season is known as the Transfiguration of our Lord. Green is used for its symbolism of our growth in Christ.
